As an addendum to the post below about soldiers at ease, my roommate kindly reminded me of this photograph shot by Horace Bristol, one of the original Time/LIFE photographers who was well known for his images of war during the twentieth century. This particular photo was taken of a PBY Blister Gunner at his post after rescuing a fellow officer. No explanation for why he’s naked, but I’m not asking for one.
