Joe Scarborough, John Heilemann, and Donnie Deutsch on Morning Joe said they're now convinced that the author of the anonymous NYT op-ed is Kellyanne Conway.
Said John Heilemann, citing this article by Charles Pierce: “The more you think about it, the more the Kellyanne Conway thing makes some sense. She's very cagey, she's the kind of person who would find out that Mike Pence used the word ‘lodestar' a lot and put lodestar in to try to pin it on Mike Pence. She also, if you think about the double act she's doing with her husband right now…this is a good hedge against Trump failing, because she would be the kind of person who would want to come out after Trump failed and say, ‘you know what, I was working on the inside for the resistance all along.'”
Added Scarborough: We have evidence of this because, at the end of the campaign she would, in the green room, and around the set, talk about how she couldn't wait for the campaign to [be] over. This was like her summer abroad.”
Donny Deutsch agreed: “Who is cunning and clever enough to use the word, the Pence word, to throw people? And who in the post-Trump administration has the most to lose?”
Willie Geist was not convinced: “I think you're wrong about Kellyanne,” adding that he thought the author was not a “household name.”
