In the first trailer for the hotly anticipated rock doc, Amy, we re-live all over again the spell that troubled songstress Amy Winehouse cast over the world and the tragedy of her untimely demise.
Asif Kapadia's Amy had an Out of Competition Midnight Screening here in Cannes last week and is easily one of the films receiving the most praise across the Official Selection. The documentary about Amy Winehouse stunned in its premiere and is gearing up for a July 3 release in both the U.S. and the UK, via A24 and Altitude, respectively. The film is the tragic and remarkable story of the six-time Grammy-winner and features extensive unseen archive footage and previously unheard tracks.
Winehouse died in 2011 at age 27 of alcohol poisoning.
