Failed 2013 Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia E.W. Jackson lashed out against same-sex marriage at the closing of the Values Voter Summit last Friday
True to form, failed 2013 Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia E.W. Jackson – he has previously claimed to be even better friends with god than the Pope – this time spoke for god himself, lashing out against same-sex marriage at the closing of the Values Voter Summit last Friday, reports Right Wing Watch.
The annual Values Voter Summit, organized by anti-gay bigots Family Research Council and backed by the Republican Party, featured a who's who of homophobic wingnuts including Michelle Bachmann, Jason & David Benham, Michelle Duggar, Mike Huckabee, Sarah Palin, Rick Santorum and Mat Staver.
Closing out Friday night's session, Jackson attacked supporters of equality and was somewhat confused with his interpretation of "the truth":
“How dare you try to redefine an institution that God himself ordained! The fact of the matter is they can call a union other than one man and one woman by any name they choose but the reality is you can re-write a thousand dictionaries, you can put on a thousand TV shows, you can make a thousand headlines, you can have a thousand coming out parties, you can have a thousand politicians affirm the lie, but the truth will still stand and a thousand years from now, marriage will still be a union between one man and one woman because God ordained it so!"
