Rev. Leo Godzich, associate pastor at Phoenix First Assembly of God, and a counselor to Ted Haggard after his scandal, has been killed in a car accident while evangelizing and promoting "traditional" marriage in Uganda, Jim Burroway reports. Godzich ran NAME (National Association of Marriage Enhancement). Godzich was "one of the architects of the opposition" to an LGBT anti-discrimination ordinance in Phoenix.
Four evangelists, including two American nationals were killed after their car was rammed into by a trailer on Thursday night.
The accident that occurred on the Jinja-Iganga highway at Kakira round-about, claimed lives of Dr Reo Godvich and his brother Reo from First Assemblies' Church located in Arizona State, USA, pastor John Mike Mugerwa of Saints-Gate in Katwe, in Makindye, Kampala and Ronnie Ssebunya. The Americans visited the country at the invitation of pastor Mugerwa.
